Main duties 1. To take responsibility for the development and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment of a range of database development, business intelligence, data warehousing, data mining and big-data related modules to undergraduate and postgraduate students, research students and corporate clients. Staff in the Computing Subject Group are occasionally involved in teaching overseas and this may be included in the duties and responsibilities of the appointee. 2. To demonstrate appropriate pedagogic practice in teaching and support for students through the use of a wide range of learning resources and innovative approaches. 3. To ensure that the teaching for which the postholder is responsible is informed by contemporary research, scholarship, knowledge transfer and professional practice, and develops the ability of students to engage in debate, critical discourse and thinking. 4. To provide applicants and students with high quality academic advice and guidance. 5. To reflect critically on teaching for which the postholder is responsible; implementing improvements, disseminating good practice and contributing to quality monitoring & enhancement. 6. To undertake applied research / knowledge transfer/ professional practice through some of the following: ? Contributing to research and its dissemination. ? Supervising PhD/DBA research students. ? Contributing to securing and delivering internally and externally funded projects. ? Engaging in professional practice. ? Developing networks. ?
