Software Maintenance Engineer
Supporting and improving cutting edge websites in multiple languages for enterprise clients
Red Badger is looking for a Software Maintenance Engineer to join the team supporting and further enhancing live production websites for our clients. We love doing fantastic work for our clients and we do this in integrated teams which are completely open with each other and our customers. Red Badger is growing in numbers and has some impressive clients. We design, develop and deliver beautiful and innovative products for our customers. We pride ourselves on doing the right thing, not compromising on quality and being efficient and agile in doing so.
You’ll be working alongside close, multi-disciplined teams surrounded by some of the industry’s best developers, designers, UX architects and testers to bring the site intao production. You’ll be involved across all the projects that are actively being worked on and you will gain great exposure and learn about all the various technologies they utilise. The team you will join will support these solutions once they go live and keep them in tip top condition by delivering further enhancements, improvements and new features to that site over it’s lifetime.
The more you know about the following [prioritised] list, the better:
Ruby on Rails
Unit testing & mocking
AWS management experience
Continuous integration/delivery (Circle CI etc)

Red Badger work in an Agile manner and you will gain familiarity with Scrum/Kanban. If you’ve previously worked in multi-disciplined teams that would be a bonus; if not, you have much to look forward to.
This role will ideally suit someone passionate about technology, who enjoys working across a diverse portfolio of projects, enjoys a varied working day, who likes to ensure their customers are happy and who cares that the work they produce is always at it’s best. You will be passionate about customer service, a great communicator and willing to provide on-call cover for your customers (you will of course be remunerated for your time). You will be managing incidents and bug fixes to service level agreements, as well as the project caseload and so being able to prioritise your work is very important.
Experience with case management systems and application monitoring software would also be highly desirable.
